What Made King Solomon the Wisest King the World Ever Had?
Not out from his efforts, but God made him wise for a purpose. King Solomon hints the dire need for God to come and lead us. Notice and learn about Solomon’s 7Ws.

The 7W’s of King Solomon: 6Ws and 1W More
As a king leading human Israelites, and despite almost everything he possessed at his free disposal, his Wielding-Powers, Wealth, Wisdom, Women and Well-known-ness (5Ws), King Solomon ended up with Wine (+W). Why? His drunkenness is a sign he was frustrated, and so a failed individual (Proverbs 31:4-5). Again, Why?
God’s Purpose Revealed
Wait, are not the 6Ws of King Solomon the desires of about 99.99% of men in this world, one way or the other? And so, God raised King Solomon for one basic purpose: to tell the world that materialism is not the answer to man’s fulfillment. This shows that satisfaction, contentment and fulfillments are all by spiritual means, not by material means and money. It’s rather the spiritual component that fills the bucket of human desires. Interestingly, spiritual matter is not solid matter.
The Basic Nature of Man, King Solomon not Spared
By nature, almost all matured men, love wine. They seem to be hard up advancing in life without it. Why?
At young age, almost all men start life with plausible degree of gentleness and decorous behavior. Then at some point in time in aging, something begins changing in their personalities, showing signs of rowdiness and look for wine. They tend to turn back becoming poor and feel helpless to death. They think of wines as their last resorts to address emptiness, frustrations and fear of the unknown.
“Alcohol is for the dying, and wine for those in bitter distress. Let them drink to forget their poverty and remember their troubles no more” (Proverbs 31:6-7, NLT).
But not appropriate for Kings, his mother taught him. King Solomon admitted and wrote:
“It is not for kings, O Lemuel, to guzzle wine. Rulers should not crave alcohol. For if they drink, they may forget the law and not give justice to the oppressed” (Proverbs 31:4-5, NLT).
This usually happens by the age of 40, which many paint with erroneous meaning considering it to be a “life begins at 40.”
Paradoxically, this is the time when men reached the peak of achievements and so said of them as accomplished persons. Unfortunately, this is also the time they begin to realize “something goes wrong with life.” Why?
Mid-Life: Shift to Spiritual
Mid-life is the time man is expected to shift from being vigorously worldly, a physically-engrossed life to a life of caution and moderation, a spiritually-searching mentality.
Set by nature, when people reach the heights of age, they are expected to be enlightened through spiritual-mindedness, focused on higher levels over and above human familiarities, or else fall down with the heavy burdens of living and retrogress. At this juncture, it is evident that age 40 is the boundary between materialism and spiritualism.
King Solomon’s Conclusion
King Solomon was the first man to ever expressed these facts beyond boundaries. We find them all in his writings in the Bible.
For people focused on spiritual matters, they highlight at what the King was deeply implying about human matters, but particularly interested on his phraseological utterance “end of the matter.”
King Solomon Spent Much time Observing the Human World
King Solomon was a philosopher on human issues and predicaments. He used to be spending time looking at the world through the window observing people busily crawling in their worldly endeavors:
“While I was at the window of my house, looking through the curtain . . .” (Proverbs 7:6, NLT).
He was generally wondering about life, about man and God. In other words, he was looking for answers why things all go as they are. He linked his thoughts with the question his father King David raised before God:
“Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens. Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.
“When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? c
“You have made them d a little lower than the angels e and crowned them f with glory and honor. You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their g feet . . .” (Psalms 1:6, NIV).
c 4 Or what is a human being that you are mindful of him,
a son of man that you care for him?
d 5 Or him
e 5 Or than God
f 5 Or him
g 6 Or made him ruler . . . ; . . . his
He came up with the conclusions that there’s nothing win-win in every human exercise grounded on materialism. Human pursuits are meant to end up into spiritual significance, or would just vanish at the end. Read more soon >>>
“I observed everything going on under the sun, and really, it is all meaningless—like chasing the wind” (Ecclesiastes 1:14, NLT).
In Philippine tongue, the translation for meaningless (or vanity in WEB) is "walang-kuwenta." Translating it whole: "lahat ay walang ka-kuwenta-kwenta.”
Proverbs point on “lahat,” or “all,” is literal, and so, "everything going on under the sun" (NLT) or "all the works done under the sun" (WEB) that humans do in this evil world.
Nothing Significant, Nothing Relevant
Nothing is significant, nothing is relevant in all our works in relation to what God planned all along from the beginning (Genesis 1:26) until its fulfillment (Rev 21:3). Why? More soon on this >>>
We just stroll haphazardly around this planet Earth without any assurance of the future except good luck wished for unable to fill up never-ending desires.
King Solomon’s conclusion was as important to know as much as the above when he said about the conclusion of human affairs. This means, our future, fate and fulfillments are in the hands of God.
The Ultimate Wisdom
The King was so comprehensively wise that he saw both the beginning and general end of human matters. This is his ultimate spiritual Wisdom, his 7thW:
“This is the end of the matter. All has been heard. Fear God, and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man” (Ecclesiastes 12:13, NLT).
What Constitutes Fearing God?
From this point, we are bit oriented about the need to start life all over again from the point of view of God, from the platform He established under the Leadership of Christ, His Executive Officer.
“Jesus came and told his disciples, ‘I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth’” (Matthew 28:18, NLT).
And “. . . at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne . . .” (Matthew 19:28, NIV).
We humans should not think we are capable of doing things. We lack wisdom. We need God and His wisdom.
“All wisdom comes from the Lord . . .” (Proverbs 2:6, CEV).
If it says “all wisdom,” then there could be no other wisdom to rely on except that which comes from God. Or else, they are not wisdom at all but merely out from human intelligent ideas, inferior and faulty ending up in vain vanishing. But what is wisdom? More on this soon >>>
But Have We Ever Ask God to Come Yet
First, many people never have any idea that God would come. That is why there’s the biblical verse about preaching the Kingdom:
“And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14, NLT).
Second, we don’t see any possibility that God still comes considering thousands of years have passed, yet Christ never come back:
“. . . I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires.
End-Time Mentality as of Today
“They will say, ‘What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.’”
They deliberately forget that God made the heavens long ago by the word of his command, and he brought the earth out from the water and surrounded it with water.
Then he used the water to destroy the ancient world with a mighty flood. And by the same word, the present heavens and earth have been stored up for fire. They are being kept for the day of judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed.
One Day to God is One Thousand Years to Man
But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief” (2 Peter 3:3-10, NLT).
Third, human religions tell people that God is here already and no need to expect more, or tells that God is represented by human leaders which both distort truths. And so, people depend them with their “eminence” and simultaneously on God’s answers to their prayers for a life free from trials, and filled with blessings and successes while in this evil world. But how could God be so ever answering these kinds of prayers when He said:
“Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions.
What Prayer Do We Ask God?
In reference to human cravings and prayers for blessings and better living in this world, read what follows:
These are not from the Father, but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever” (1 John 2:15-17, NLT).
Blessings Benefits this Evil World
How could God be so ever here with us now when we are still all suffering yet? And how could God be so ever granting prayers for blessings when this world is not His World but is coming yet.
God’s Has A Better World Designed for Humans
Prayers must be what King Solomon hinted which is the need for God to come in Person since He is yet from afar and so, He is not yet here and He is coming yet.
The need is not for God to pour blessings for us to live better lives in this evil world. That’s absurd since God has a better world for us yet to come.
Fourth, this is reserved for atheists, people who are wondering asking, “is there God?” Trust and faith are the keys. We must not rely on ourselves. We must trust the spiritual God by leaving everything to Him, though He continuously remaining unseen. Because faith is for the unseen. What need is there for faith if it is already seen, touched and documented?
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see” (Hebrews 11:1, NIV).
Trusting the Lord vs. Trusting the Self
“Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion which cannot be shaken but endures forever” Psalms 125:1, NIV).
“Those who trust their own insight are foolish, but anyone who walks in wisdom is safe” (Proverbs 28:26, NIV).
God’s Wisdom vs. Human Wisdom
“For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. As the Scriptures say, ‘He traps the wise in the snare of their own cleverness’” (1 Corinthians 3:19, NLT).
We have Been Trusting our own Might
But have we ever asked God yet to come to lead us in actual reality? No, we have been asking God, instead, to bless us in the way we do things, not the way He does things, which is plain absurdity if not total nonsense.
The issue is trusting God the way He does things done, not in the way we like things done, as what Adam and Eve did by touching and eating the fruit God told them not to eat by justifying in Genesis 3:5 saying in effect “We know what to do and this is the way We will do it. Leave us alone God.”
This, despite Adam having been taught by God on what to eat and what not to eat, which teachings he passed on to Eve (Genesis 2:16-17, John 6:45).
As so, the whole Mankind, following the way of their first progenitors, built their world. And so, today we are reaping series of consequences from outcomes of our collective and global efforts in building this world – – – the Covid19 being currently the worst, so far, terrifying everyone in which both the rich and poor rattled at maximum intensity.
